Introduction

Hydro Homie ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Hydro Homie app, its widgets, its Apple Watch app and its App Clip.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide

• Water intake entries: Timestamps, amounts, and drink types you log
• Bottles: The drink sizes you save
• Goal and routine: Your weight, daily goal, wake-up time, bedtime and the habits you choose to tie drinking to
• Shared tank name: The name you choose to show, if you join a shared tank

Apple Health (only if you connect it)

• Read: Water, sleep and workouts. Sleep is used to estimate your bedtime; workouts are used to adjust your goal and send a message after a workout
• Write: The water you log

Health data is never used for advertising and is never sent to us.

Location and Weather (only if you turn on the matching sky or the adaptive goal)

Your approximate location is used to ask Apple Weather for your local weather, so Homie's sky can match it and, with Homie+, your goal can go up on hot days. We don't store your location.

Data We Do Not Collect

We don't run servers that receive your data, and we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking. Purchases are handled by Apple, and we never see your payment details.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Provide water tracking, your streak and your reminders
• Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
• Show your progress to the people in a shared tank, if you join one
• Provide customer support when requested

Reminders are scheduled on your device. Where your device supports Apple Intelligence and you have Homie+, messages may be reworded by a model that runs on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere for this.

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your data is stored on your device
• iCloud Sync: Data is synchronized to your personal iCloud account managed by Apple Inc.
• No Third-Party Servers: We do not store your personal data on our own servers
• Security: We rely on Apple's industry-standard security measures for data protection

Data Sharing

We do not sell or trade your personal information. It only leaves your devices in these cases:

• Apple iCloud: For synchronization across your devices
• Shared tanks: If you create or join one, the other people in it can see your chosen name, today's amount, your goal and any nudges you send. This goes through Apple's iCloud sharing. Leaving the tank stops it
• Apple Weather: Your approximate location is sent to Apple to get your weather, if you turn on the matching sky or the adaptive goal
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Your Rights and Choices

All Users

• Access: View all your data within the app
• Modify: Edit or delete individual entries
• Delete: Remove data on your device by deleting the app, and remove synced data in your iCloud settings
• Export: Contact us for data export assistance

EU Users (GDPR Rights)

If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
• Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
• Right to Object: Object to processing of your personal data

Children's Privacy

Hydro Homie does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

Third-Party Services

Apple iCloud

We use Apple's iCloud service to sync your data across devices. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of your data: https://www.apple.com/privacy/

Apple Health, Apple Weather and App Store

Health data stays under your control in the Health app. Weather comes from Apple Weather. Subscriptions and purchases are handled by the App Store, under Apple's privacy policy.

No Analytics or Advertising

Hydro Homie does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Retention

• Data is retained as long as you have the app installed
• Data in iCloud follows Apple's retention policies
• You can delete all data by removing the app from your devices

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own through Apple's iCloud service. Apple maintains appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
